Garfield Lorne Kenneth Russell MCGILVRAY

McGILVRAY, Garfield Lorne Kenneth Russell. Peacefully, at the Ridgetown Retirement Residence on Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at the age of 95. A longtime resident of Georgetown, Ontario, he made a significant contribution to the community through his fifty years of employment at the Georgetown Herald, the Georgetown Fair Board, Georgetown Town Council, the Hockey Heritage Council, the Georgetown Liberals and St. John's United Church. In 1977, he was awarded the Queen's Silver Jubilee Medal for service. Predeceased by his wife Emmaline (1998). Survived by his children, Ross and his wife Donna of Peterborough, Gail of London, Douglas and his wife Marie of Brampton and Carol and her husband Richard Richmond of Chatham. Also survived by eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. His brother Walter McGilvray of Burlington survives. Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 11582 Trafalgar Rd. (North of Maple Ave.) Georgetown 905-877-3631 on Friday, August 6, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, August 7, 2004 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Georgetown.
