Richard Borden DIXIE

DIXIE, Borden - Former Co-Owner of Dixie & Egan Ltd. Addison, Ontario; Entered into rest at St. Lawrence Lodge on Wednesday March 18, 2009. Richard Borden Dixie of Brockville age 96 years. Borden was the last remaining child of the late William and Eleanor (Kavanaugh) Dixie. He was predeceased by his siblings Kathleen Egan (George), Harold Dixie (Fern), Lillian Scott (Leonard), Arthur Dixie (Anna), Kenneth Dixie (Bessie), Lawrence Dixie (Dorothy), Hilda Miller (Gerald). He is survived by his loving niece Carol Thurlby and her husband Dr. Malcolm Thurlby, his dear friend and business partner John Creighton and his wife Jennifer Burchell Creighton, and his close friend Theresa Ouellete (Remi). Borden is survived by several nieces and nephews. Also survived by his cousin Betty Ireland and fondly remembered by the Owners and employees of Dixie & Egan Feeds. Borden's family would like to thank all his Personal Care Workers for their service and kindness to him. In addition the family would like to thank the staff of St. Lawrence Lodge. Family and friends may call at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME 137 Pearl Street East Brockville on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday March 21, 2009 at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Glen Elbe Cemetery.
