Doris Verna FRY

Mrs. Doris Verna Bennett February 19, 1923 - March 23, 2009 - 86, of Halifax, passed away Monday, March 23, 2009, in Northwood Manor. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Gladys (Tucker) Fry. Doris enjoyed camping and travelling with her husband for many years. Both Doris and her husband were very active in their community. Doris is survived by her stepchildren, George (Maureen) Bennett, Dartmouth; Jesse Bennett, Halifax and Winnie (Kenneth) Whitman, Lower Sackville; sisters, Phyllis (Jim) Mackie, Kanata, Ont.; Barbara (Mac) Williams, Blandford; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman and her sister, Gertrude. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today with funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayer's Rd., Halifax. Interment to follow in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Doris' memory to Canadian Cancer Society.
