CLARKIN, Catherine Pauline - Charlottetown At Whisperwood Villa on Sunday, March 29, 2009, of Mrs. Catherine P. Clarkin (nee McQuillan), formerly of Emyvale, aged 84 years. Beloved wife of the late Norbert (Bert) Clarkin, who predeceased her in 1974. Dear mother of Ann (Ron) MacKinley and Marion (Fred) Younker. Catherine will also be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Joanne MacKinley (Eddie Curran), Jamie (Shauna) MacKinley, Jeff MacKinley, Katie (Mitchell) Jollimore, Colin Younker, Mary Beth Younker, Maria Younker, Laura Younker; great-grandchildren: Lauren Curran, Alex Curran, Alexa MacKinley, Breanne MacKinley; and sister-in-law, Bernice McQuillan. She was the last surviving member of her family. Besides her husband Bert, she was predeceased by her parents: Owen and Margaret McQuillan (nee McCloskey), her sister, Mary (Cyril) Egan, brothers Linus McQuillan, Gavin McQuillan, Aeneas McQuillan, Eugene (Blanche) McQuillan, Raymond McQuillan, John McQuillan (in infancy) and sister-in-law May Clarkin. Resting at the Charlottetown Funeral Home, 33/35 Longworth Ave., until 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon then transferred to St. Ann’s Church, Lot 65, for funeral mass at 2:30 p.m. Interment to take place at a later date in the family plot at St. Ann’s Parish Cemetery. If so desired memorials in Mrs. Clarkin’s memory can be made to Pat and The Elephant or to Whisperwood Villa Resident Activity Fund.
