Daniel James BROWN

BROWN, Daniel James (Jan. 6, 1918 - Apr. 12, 2009) - Daniel James Brown passed away peacefully at Palliative Care on Easter Sunday with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Jean Brown for 59 years to the day. Loving father of Ann Donato and her husband Sam and Jim Brown and his wife Maureen all of Sarnia. Special grandfather of Mark Donato (Alison) of London and Joel Donato of Toronto. Predeceased by brothers Bill, George, Perce, Leonard and by his infant sister Gladys. Dan was an Air Force veteran of WWII, retired conductor from CNR and a longtime member and Elder of Laurel Lea- St. Mathews Church. Dan was known as the unofficial Mayor of Minto Street and will be fondly remembered for his smile and for his love of people and his family. The funeral service for Dan will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Laurel Lea St. Matthews Presbyterian Church 837 Exmouth St. Sarnia at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Joyce Hodgson officiating. The interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Wednesday April 15, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sympathy may expressed through donations to Laurel Lea- St. Matthews Presbyterian Church or Bluewater Health Palliative Care.
