Gordon B. ARMSTRONG

Cathryne (Kay) H. Armstrong (Blackley) June 1922 - June 2008 Capt. Gordon B. Armstrong May 1920 - July 2004 Originally from Toronto, residents of the Saanichton area in British Columbia for past 30 years. Gord was a dedicated long time member with the Royal Canadian Legion and the Army and Navy. He was well known in the neighbourhood for his love of animals, especially his companion and championship Whippet, Brin, and his everlasting stream of Gord jokes. Kay, the proud recipient of the Order of Canada and the Persons Award, was well known for her advocacy work with the Saanichton Hospital Foundation, as a volunteer as a Citizen Court Judge, and for women's causes at local, regional, provincial, national and international levels. Predeceased by daughter Sheila, survived by daughters Lindy (Clive), Pat (Jim), sons Bart, Michael (Theresa), 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Military service and Interment to be held at Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa at Canada's National Military Cemetery on April 15, 2009 at 1pm In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully appreciated to the SPCA.
