Thomas Duncan MACLEOD

MacLEOD, Thomas (Tom) Duncan - Passed away at the P.R.H.C. on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 surrounded by the family that he cherished. Tom MacLeod of Peterborough in his 82nd year. Tom was born in Scotland on June 13, 1927 and lived in Toronto until 1977 at which time he and the family settled in Peterborough. He retired from the Metropolitan Toronto Police Force in 1985 as Staff Inspector and then joined the Ministry of Consumer and Commercial Relations for five years. He was a master gardener, carpenter, artist and friend to all he met. Tom spent fifteen years compiling his experiences and life in a book that was printed only days before his final hours. He will ever be remembered by his wife and best friend Beverley, his loving children Darrell (Franklyn) of Toronto, Janine Ellis (Stuart) and John (Tania) of Peterborough. Beloved Poppa of Joel and Dayna Ellis and Ella MacLeod. Always remembered by brother Cameron (Helen) of Perth and his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Barbara and John MacLeod. A celebration of Tom's life will be held at Westdale United Church, 1509 Sherbrooke Street, Peterborough, on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 3:00 P.M., with visitation to commence at 2:00 P.M. A reception to follow service in the church hall. In memory of Tom, memorial donations may be made to the P.R.H.C. Foundation or a charity most meaningful to the donor.
