Gertrude Anne MASSEY

SMITH, Gertrude Anne (nee Massey) - Peacefully at the Retirement Home of Portal Village on Monday April 6, 2009 at the age of 92 years. Beloved wife of the late W.H. George Smith (1995). Born in Pelham Township, she resided in Port Colborne for the remainder of her life. She was a life long member of the First Presbyterian Church. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her son Barry Smith, her grandson Michael Smith, her parents Frederick and Laura Massey, her brothers Howard Massey, Harold Massey and Alvin Massey. Gertrude is survived by her sons Richard Smith (Margaret) and Doug Smith (Mique), her daughter-in-law Mary Pat Smith, her grandchildren Aleasha Ann Clarke (Jason), Dan Smith (Beckie), Sandi Murray (Dave), Shelley Coles (Dave) and Chris Smith (Alicia), her great grandchildren Turner, Ella, Carson, Kiran and Haley, her sister Jean Christie (Wilf) and her brother Ron Massey. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation and cremation has taken place. A private family funeral service will be held at the PORT COLBORNE CHAPEL of the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOMES 135 Clarence St. with interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
