GUERRIERI, Flora 2009-04-21 Flora Guerrieri (nee Powney) born in Port Arthur, July 31, 1924 passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009 in the TBRHSC with her family at her side. Flora had remained in her family home until three days prior. Flora worked in her early years at Eaton‘s and later at Canada Car where she continued after her marriage to Anthony Guerrieri in July 1942. In 1953 Flora became a survivor of the “Polio Epidemic”. This never dampened her untamable spirit and confidence and she continued to always put the needs of others before herself. She had a great appreciation for the things that really counted and never judged. Throughout Flora‘s life her husband “Tony” and their five children were her main focus, but as well she managed the family business from their home. Those family fishing trips with the boys to Lac des Mille Lacs brought much joy. Flora is survived by her five children - daughters, Patricia Miller (the support Mom had to remain in her home), Flora Watson (Keith) Winnipeg, MB, and sons Anthony, Donald (Lois) and Ronald (Donna). Flora was so proud of her nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren and always stayed in touch and supported them in their endeavours and accomplishments. Kathleen Watson ( husband Andrew Knowles, Tyler and Rebecca), Angela McKay (husband Sean, Joseph and Lucas), and Peter Watson (Nicola) all of North Vancouver, BC; Tyler Guerrieri (Wpg, MB) and Katherine Gybros; Jennifer Guerrieri (Adam) and Jacqueline Guerrieri (Luke); and Tamara and Patricia Guerrieri. Flora is survived by brother-in-law Don Guerrieri and sister-in-law, Loretta Wilson. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives survive. Flora was predeceased by her parents Florence and William Powney, husband Tony, 1980 and son-in-law, Bruce Miller, brother and sister Syd and Edna, sisters-in-law Julie and Rita, brothers-in-law Alfred, William and Richard and in-laws Angelo and Angelina. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 22nd at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Rev. Msgr. P.M.
