Sheli Mae MATHEWS

MATHEWS, Sheli 2009-04-22 Ms. Sheli Mae Mathews, age 46 years, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Sheli enjoyed life to the fullest and enriched the lives of those who knew her. She worked at many different jobs over the years, but her true calling was to help others. She held positions at various social service agencies throughout Thunder Bay including; Avenue II, Shelter House and most recently with Dilico as a Youth Outreach Worker. Sheli was an avid pool player and a long-standing member of local pool leagues. She was well known and respected as a player. Her skill and love of the game led to numerous trips to Las Vegas for tournaments and she truly valued the friendships that were made. She loved nature and the outdoors, often telling funny stories of her adventures during fishing expeditions with her dearest friends. Sheli is survived by her partner Linda and daughter Alexis. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten by numerous family members and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Allan and Archibelle Mathews. A celebration of Sheli’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, April 24, 2009 at the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James with the Rev. Gail M. Clifton officiating.
