Lester George HANSEN

HANSEN, Lester George 1922 - 2006 Lester Hansen passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at the age of 83 years. Lester, beloved husband of the late Alice Hansen (nee Bray), is lovingly remembered by his children, Marian, Lori, Eric, Candy, Doug and Elaine; grandchildren, Brittany, Jeremy and Matthew. Lester will also be lovingly remembered by his sisters and brothers, Genevieve, Keith (Joan), Mildred, Clifford, Virginia (Johnny); brother-in-law Russ (Irene); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends worldwide. Lester was a World War II veteran, a survivor of the heroics of D. Day. He was a valuable employee of Canada Malting Co. for thirty-eight years as well as a thirty-year Founding Charter member of the Southridge Lions Club. The respect, compassion and kindness for our dad shown by the doctors and nurses of Unit 37A of the Foothills Hospital gave our family strength and the comfort we needed to walk this road with him. You will remain in our hearts. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Visitation at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Friday, January 6, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Lester's Life will be held at Foster's Garden Chapel on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with Interment to follow at Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery.
