Joel Quinn MARTIN

MARTIN Joel Quinn December 16, 1965 - March 2, 2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joel Quinn Martin in a tragic ski accident. He leaves behind his loving wife Cheryl, son Kyle, mother Irene and sister Jennifer. He was predeceased by his father, Jerry, in 1981. Joel was raised in Banff experiencing a dream childhood being surrounded by horses and the picturesque Rocky Mountains. This fostered his love of the outdoors, especially the slopes of Lake Louise and Mt. Norquay. Joel attended the U of C and graduated with a degree in Geography, another sign of his love of the earth. Joel traveled to Australia, Africa, Greece, Argentina, Thailand and most recently to family oriented North America destinations. He always loved to read the travel section of the newspaper and dream of other exotic vacations. Joel's employment at Spartan Controls had reached a new level of success. He was recognized for his sales achievements, leadership, business acumen and relationship skills. Joel was known for his infectious smile, confidence, optimism and passion. He had great instincts which helped contribute to his successes. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. He loved the outdoors, especially skiing, golfing and family walks with Jazzy. Joel had a zest for life and lived each day to the fullest. Joel was at the pinnacle of his life. He was happily married with a son he treasured and had many close family members and friends surrounding him. The family wishes to thank the Lake Louise Ski Patrol, R.C.M.P., paramedics, nurses and doctors at the Mineral Springs Hospital. A Celebration of Joel's life will be held at Centre Street Church - Main Campus, 3900 - 2 Street N.E. on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to the Kyle Martin Trust Fund through the Bank of Montreal.
