Joseph Garfield WEBSTER

WEBSTER, Joseph Garfield Joseph Garfield Webster, born Sturgess Plantation, Barbados, on October 29, 1921, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 9, 2006. He was predeceased by wife Marie on November 23, 1993. Joe started in the oil business in Venezuela with United Geophysical. He moved to Canada in 1945. In 1948 he met his future wife Marie and they moved to Quebec to try farming. Joe realized that his future was in oil, not rock farming, and returned west where he spent the next forty years working in the oil patch until he retired from Dome/Amoco in 1996. After retirement Joe took a great interest in computers and genealogy. As a testament to Joe's good heart and fun-loving nature he was blessed to be surrounded by the greatest of friends, colleagues and neighbours. Joe's memory will survive with his children, Jim, Chuck, Neil and Lori (Kostiw); in-laws, Jack, Babs and Karen; grandchildren, Lindsay, Brittany, Leah, Brady, Zak; and great-grandson Scott. A memorial donation may be made in Joe's name directly to the KSPS Television, Friends of 7, which offered Joe and Marie great enjoyment, especially his beloved "English Shows". A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Friday, January 13, 2006 at 1:00 p.m., Rev. Bryan D. Derksen, officiating.
