Edna Carol TORGRIMSON

JONES (nee Torgrimson) Edna Carol Born on May 6, 1940 at Strathmore, Alberta, Edna passed away on April 17, 2006 at Calgary, Alberta surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband Ken; children, Laurie Jones (Kerry Miller), Lyle (Coraleen) Jones, Chrissy (Colin) Hawes and Carla (Doug) Nott; grandchildren, Jolene (Drew), Cody, Riley, Jacey, Royce, Bailey, Cheyenne, Ty, and Trey; she is also survived by her mother Muriel Helpard; her siblings, Raymond (Carol) Torgrimson, Diane (Len) Page, Dennis (Anne) Torgrimson, Phyllis Bates and Steven (Pat) Torgrimson along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Selmer Pete Torgrimson; her son Jimmy; and niece Krista. Edna loved to volunteer, whether it was the Strathmore Hospital Ladies Auxiliary or the Lyalta and Cheadle Community Clubs. She was an active member of Rural Crime Watch and also enjoyed helping at the Odd and Unusual Sale in Innisfail. Over the years, there were many children she looked after, whether in her home or on the school bus. She could do everything, from Carnival Queen, florist, cake decorating, figure skating Mom, and baker, just to touch on a few of her many special talents. Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2006 at Strathmore United Church at 2:00 p.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made directly to Strathmore Hospital Ladies Auxiliary (200 Brent Boulevard, Strathmore T1P 1J9) of the Canadian Diabetes Association (105, 7500 Macleod Trail S.E., Calgary T2H 0L9).
