PIQUETTE, Philias (Pete) Michael - At the Cornwall Community Hospital, McConnell Site on Tuesday, October 3, 2006; at the age of 78 years. Devoted husband of Betty (Charlebois) Piquette. Loving father of Patricia Piquette (late Michael Mills) of Long Sault, Michael Piquette (Shirley) of Cornwall and Rosemary Zvonar (John) of Ottawa. Loving “Dampa” of Jamie, Christopher and Patrick Piquette. Dear son of the late Joseph Piquette and the late Yvonne (Dumond) Piquette. Dear brother of Ronald Piquette (Dorothy) of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC, Robert Piquette (Marina), Gladys Jarvis, Noella Belmore all of Cornwall and Norma Dupree of Massena, NY. Predeceased by two brothers, Rolland and Rudolph Piquette and by two sisters, Rita Shaver and Jeannine Cunningham. Will also be lovingly remembered by Rory and Nori McCormick and their children, Rob, Brendan and Kate, as well as many nieces and nephews. Pete was a former member of the Cornwall Golf & Country Club, the Summerheights Golf Club and the Knights of Columbus, Ontario Council 755. He was inducted into the Cornwall Sports Hall of Fame in 1970. Resting at the Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (613-932-8482) from 2 p.m. Thursday. Funeral Friday, October 6, 2006 for Mass of Christian Burial in St. Columban’s Church at 1 p.m. The family will be in attendance from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute or to the Cornwall Minor Hockey Association would be appreciated by the family.
