RUSSELL, Edward Victor "Ted" 1923 - 2006 On Christmas Eve 2006, held in love by his family and in hand by his loving son-in-law Michael, Ted peacefully joined Our Lord at the age of 83 years. Beloved husband of 59 years with his wife Ruth, Dad will be remembered with love, by his daughters Sharon and Marian; his sons-in-law Michael and Paul, and his grandchildren Jeffrey, Brad and Jonathan. Also survived by his dear brother Jack (Ann), Bill, Francis, and Mary Kay (Bert). Predeceased by his parents William and Marie Russell, his sisters Noreen (Eddie) and Phyllis, brothers Alan and Bob, brothers-in-law Pat, Robert, Donald, Andre and Donnie. Ted will be fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law Pauline, Patsy (Gerry), Lois and Rose, many nieces, nephews and friends. Born in Hamilton, he was a child of the Depression, a WWII Veteran, beginning his civil career with Trans Canada Airlines, retiring from Air Canada after over thirty years of dedicated service. He will be remembered for his strong intellect, his honesty, his exceptional generosity and his commitment to family, friends and community. Heartfelt love to Eileen and Jim Slobodian whose daily bedside prayers helped Ted pass peacefully to a place where he can now see and walk. Special thanks to Lois Parson, his little guardian angel at the Chartwell. Warm thanks to all the staff on 3A at the Queensway Carleton who were so professional and very caring. Last, but certainly never least, many thanks to the staff at the Chartwell Kanata Retirement Residence, who over the last 15 months were so patient and understanding during this very trying time. A memorial service celebrating Ted's life will be held on what would have been his 84th birthday, Saturday, January 27, 2007, at the Chartwell Kanata Retirement Residence Chapel, 20 Shirleys Brook Drive, Kanata Ontario (613-591-8939) at 2 p.m. In Memoriam donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association appreciated.
