George Alexander MacKenzie, Charlottetown The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, May 11, 2009, of George A. MacKenzie of North River and formerly of Long Creek, age 72 years. Dear father of Glenda MacKenzie (Dan MacDonald) and stepfather of John (Sue) Walker and Roseanne (Mike) Thornington. Brother of Eileen (the late Dr. Burton) Howatt , Irma (the late Harold) Betts and Earla (Alan) Smith. Predeceased by his parents, Ida and Earl MacKenzie, and stepson, Robert Walker. Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel from where a private service will be held on Friday. Interment will take place in Canoe Cove Cemetery. If so desired, memorials to the Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
