Myrol, Const. Anthony/ Gordon, / Peter Schiemann, / Leo Johnston, and Brock (Featured Guest Book) A year ago, on March 3, 2005, tragedy struck on a snowy farm near the small Alberta town of Mayerthorpe. Within minutes, four young and promising RCMP officers were cut down in a raid on a marijuana grow operation and "chop shop" dealing in stolen automobile parts. Const. Anthony Gordon, 28, Const. Peter Schiemann, 25, Const. Leo Johnston, 32, and Const. Const. Brock Myrol, 29, lost their lives in a blaze of gunfire. Gunman Jim Roszko, 46, a felon known for his hatred of police and other authority figures, took his own life. It was the largest mass killing of police officers in Canada since the Northwest Rebellion and the depth of the tragedy was felt across North America.
