He also leaves behind his wife's children Peter Ouimet and his wife Carole, Michelle Massey and her husband Allen, and Paula Ouimet. Bill was predeceased by his parents Lillian and Eldon Siddall and his brother Edward, all of Winnipeg. He is survived by his brother Robert of Winnipeg and sister Margaret Harman of Ottawa. Bill was also blessed and loved by a combined brood of nine grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren from both families. Born in 1921 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Bill graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1942 in Commerce and Finance and came east to secure his first job in the Accounting Dept. of GE Canada in Peterborough, Ontario. He later moved to Montreal and finally settled in Toronto in 1951. Bill worked full time at Select Drywall and Village Building Supplies, Woodbridge until shortly before his death. Bill loved sports and was very athletic, excelling at basketball in university and sailing, skiing and windsurfing in later years. He finally hung up his board at the young age of 80! He was equally passionate about the Arts as was reflected in his love of reading and opera, as well as many other musical genres. He followed current events closely and was a devotee of the Macneil- Leher Report for many years. He and Celia delighted in their country home in the Kawarthas where they entertained family and friends some of whom included members of the Class of '42! Bill and Celia also enjoyed traveling and made a number of trips to Europe and across Canada. He especially loved the rugged west coast of Vancouver Island. Many thanks to the caring Doctors and Nurses at York Central in the Surgical and Palliative Care Areas. Donations in memory of Bill may be made to Hospice Peterborough or your charity of choice.
