SYMONS, David Franklin - After a courageous battle with COPD, David peacefully went to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Fairhaven Nursing Home in his 78th year. Beloved husband of the late Lillian Symons (nee Collins). Loving father of Larry Symons (Kim), Karen Frost (Doug), David Symons (Doreen), Margaret Warner (Greg), Deborah Pick (Clark), Lorraine Forsyth (Larry), Chuck Symons (Linda) and Mike Symons. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Margaret Symons. He will be sadly missed by his 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Ron Symons (Trudy), Don Symons (Laurie), Bob Symons (Audrey), Jack Symons (Pam), Elsie Ann Hearne (Patrick), Beth Olah (Frank) and the late Sheila Manger, Lenore Kucherepa and Ernie Symons. Special thanks to Dr. Liston, Dr. Wilkins and all the Staff at Fairhaven for all their exceptional care. Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. at FAIRHAVEN NURSING HOME in the Great Room also at CALVARY PENTECOSTAL CHURCH from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2009. Funeral service will be held at Calvary Pentecostal Church (1421 Lansdowne St. W.) on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 2 p.m. Reception to follow at Calvary Pentecostal Church. Private family interment at Rosemount Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fairhaven Foundation.
