Shirley HUNTER

LAURIE, Shirley (nee Hunter) Shirley passed away February 6, 2008 at age 86, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. She was predeceased by her beloved husband James, whom she met when he was stationed in Calgary as a flying instructor with the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan. Born in Calgary, Shirley grew up in Sunnyside and graduated from Crescent Heights High School. She served with the Canadian Army in Ottawa prior to marrying Jim. After raising their family in Calgary, Shirley and Jim enjoyed a happy retirement in Victoria. Daughter Janice, friends and family will remember Shirley for her generous nature and love of good books, good conversation and good humour.
