Knute E. Soderberg March 05, 1916 - December 15, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Jenkens Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre Mr. Knute E. (Slim) Soderberg, aged 88 years, passed peacefully into the waiting arms of his guardian angel while his family surrounded his bedside. Born in Bjartra, Sweden, he came to Canada in 1925 to Lake of the Woods District before settling in Fort William in 1945. Knute married the former Bernadette Leona (Bonnie) Montour in 1948 who predeceased him in January 1979. Surviving are his children Ted (Evelyn), Karin (George), Bonnie (Eldin), Kristina (Garry), Eric, Lory (Gordon), Linda (Ted), Royden and Cindy (Dave); 25 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and a nephew. Predeceased by his wife, mother and father, two sisters, a son, brother, niece, two grandsons and a daughter-in-law. Family and friends of the late Mr. Soderberg who wish to express their condolences are invited to share in the celebration of his life at a small memorial service and open house at the home of his beloved grandson Frank on Saturday, December 18, 2004 from 1 – 5 p.m., memorial service at 2:00 p.m., at 352 North Syndicate Avenue.
