KAISER , Marvin Willis It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marvin Willis Kaiser. Marvin died at Rockyview Hospital of Cardiac Arrest on July 3, 2009 at the age of 72 years. Marvin was born in Duffield, Alberta. He is the son of Conrad and Mary Kaiser. Marvin told us many happy stories of his earlier life in Bashaw where his father was a minister at a Free Methodist Church. He loved to tell us stories of the summer family camp meetings. It was here that Marvin and Rhoda first met at age nine. Marvin and Rhoda married in 1957. They had a son Colin James who went to be with the Lord when he was three days old. Marvin and Rhoda divorced after ten years. Marvin then moved west to Golden B.C where the rest of the Kaiser men became logging contractors. It was there that he met Laura Crouse. They married and then moved to the Okanogan where they raised their three children Trevor, Lana and Chris. Marvin drove a logging truck. It was a job he just loved. He would talk about driving his truck through the clouds to the top of the mountains into bright sunshine. There he felt very close to God and loved the beautiful rainbows that he at times felt he could almost touch. He said that the smell of the cedar and the forest wherever present and he loved that scent. Laura was a wonderful wife and mother and when she died from breast cancer October 11, 2006. Marvin felt his life was incomplete until he was reunited with his first love Rhoda once again. Both Marvin and Rhoda believed that their previous marriages were so very good that they had been left as very whole people capable of loving again. They married on April 19, 2008 in Calgary and enjoyed fourteen wonderful months filled with many new and old memories, and moments of new and old laughter. Marvin was predeceased by his son Colin, his father Conrad, his mother Mary, brother Kenneth and late wife Laura. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Rhoda, brother Gary (Jean), his daughter Lana, and his sons; Trevor, Chris and Lindsay (Stacey), four grandchildren; Brett, Deanna, Jared and Abby.
