Harold Edward WOOD

WOOD, Harold Edward Harold Edward Wood, born February 19, 1925, son of Chaffey and Ellen Wood, passed away peacefully in Kanata, Ontario with his family by his side Sunday, July 5th, 2009. He was a kind and gentle man who loved dancing and life itself. His sense of humour and caring nature will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Harold was the beloved husband of Evelyn Higgins and the late Alice Yvonne Wood. Loved by his children; Linda, Donna, Leslie, Jim, Barry, Dianne Harris, Pat Butler: his step-children Sharon, Linda, Ron: his grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was a brother to Donald, Norman, Ken, Jack, Gerald, Eleanor, Gloria and Joan; and was predeceased by Thelma, Laverne, Robert and Beatrice. Special thanks to his friends and dance partners at Stonehaven Manor, and also the staff at the Queensway Carleton Hospital for their care and support. Family and friends will be received at the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Home, 49 Colborne Street, Kingston on Wednesday, July 8th, 2009 between the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to held In Our Chapel, on Thursday, July 9th, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Interment Cataraqui Cemetery.
