Joan GILLIS

OBITUARY JOAN EMERY (nee GILLIS) June 29, 1925 - July 7, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Gillis Emery. Daughter of William Gillis and Clare MacDonald and loving wife of the late Charles Emery. She also joins in Heaven her sister Mary (Rolland) and brothers Angus and Donald (Eva). Cherished and respected Mom to Kathy (Jay) and John. Devoted and loving grandmother to Danielle and Julianne who love their Nana and will miss her very much. Joan was an inspiration to many and will be remembered for her strength of character, her positive outlook and her determination. She was a proud Maritimer, a generous community volunteer and an active member of Holy Cross Parish. Her departure leaves a deep void in the lives of her family and friends. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to all those friends who provided their support during a difficult period. They would also like to thank Ms. Dail Jacobs and Dr. Wan for their incredible compassion and encouragement. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 14 at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Parish located at Eglise Ste. Francoise Cabrini, 210 de l'Eglise (corner Grande Cote), Rosemere. A reception will follow at Holy Cross Parish Centre at 555 Lefrancois, Rosemere). Later this summer, she will be interred in her beloved home province of P.E.I.
