John S. BECKETT

BECKETT, John John S. Beckett passed away in Windsor on July 12, 2009, after a short illness. John was the son of the late Henry Beckett and Sarah (Todd) Beckett of Oxford Mills. He was predeceased by his wife Beryl (Hamblen); his brothers Fred & Doug and their wives; his sister-in-law Verna Roe (Kingston) and brother-in-law Arnold Lundy (WA). John was the much loved uncle of the families of Joyce Earl-Wills, Smiths Falls; John Beckett, Ottawa; Marion Fuder, Killaloe; Todd, Hal and Jerry Beckett, Winnipeg; Eric Hamblen (Fla); David Hamblen (Kingston); Arlene, Karen and Paul Lunday (WA). John is also survived by in-laws Betty Lundy (WA) and Bill Hamblen (Margot) Brockville; and many cousins. John retired from the OPP in 1984 and lived on Pelee Island until 2007 when he moved to a retirement home in Kingsville. Visitation will be held at the Grant Brown Funeral Home, Roslton Chapel, Kemptville on Tuesday July 14th from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday July 15th from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Interment Oxford Mills Anglican Cemetery.
