Mel Joseph LeBlanc September 07, 1926 - August 04, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Campbell's Funeral Home Mel Joseph LeBlanc age 77 of Amherst passed away on Wednesday August 4, 2004 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, Upper Nappan. Born in Middle Sackville N.B., he was a son of the late Thomas and Alice (Burke) LeBlanc. Mel worked for Amherst Aerospace Limited for 34 years and retired in 1991 as Production Planer and Estimator. Mel was a 3rd and 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Saint Vincent de Paul and a past member of the United Steel Workers of America. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards especially Cribb and Auction 45. Mel is survived by his loving wife the former Geraldine (Gerry) LeBlanc; one daughter Susan (Gordon) Bailey of Halifax N.S.; one son Larry LeBlanc of Amherst; five sisters Lena (Irving) Colburn, Doris MacDonald, Kay (Leon) Pugsley, Dorilla (Robert) Dunlap all of Amherst and Mary (John) Comeau of Church Point N.S.; three brothers Robert, Henry “Hank” (Ruth) both of Amherst and Peter (Marina) of Westville N.S.; one grandson Matthew Bailey; many nieces and nephews. Mel was predeceased by two sisters Edna Belliveau and Alice Melanson. His remains are resting in Campbell’s Funeral Home 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with visiting on Friday August 6, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with parish prayers at 8 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday August 7, 2004 at 10 a.m. from St. Charles Roman Catholic Church with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating.
