Robert Leonard BOWMAN

BOWMAN, Robert (Bob) Leonard - Passed away peacefully at Hospice Niagara on August 20, 2009. Sadly missed by his wife and soul mate for over 50 years, Jean, his daughter Shara Bowman of Thorold, his daughter Roberta (Rob) Irvine of Cambridge, his pseudo-daughter, Marilyn, his buddy Whiskers and baby Willow. Predeceased by his parents Leonard and Marguerite, a sister, Doris and a brother, Gary. Bob's love for golf was second to none, but he also had a great love for music and singing and in his earlier years was part of a quartet that performed at different venues throughout the area, sang with the former Gentlemen Songsters, the Niagara Men's Chorus and the Mountainview United Church Choir. Following his retirement with the grandiose title of Real Property Manager (as Bob called it) with the St Lawrence Seaway in 1988, Bob took up woodworking as a hobby. If not on the golf course he could be found in his shop working on one of the many pieces of furniture, etc that he created over the years and which he considered as a true “labor of love”. The family would like to thank the many friends and family members who took the time to visit or call during Bob's illness, Dr. Levesque and his wonderful staff of nurses, Dr. McMillan, Dr Hartman, the wonderful team of workers from CCAC and that wonderful caring group from Hospice Niagara that made his last days so comfortable. Cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of Bob's life on Wednesday August 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Mountainview United Church. In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to PASSFIELD MORTUARY SERVICES.
