DAGENAIS, Levona (née Plouffe) - 1915-2009 The family announces with deep sorrow the passing of Levona at the Golden Manor on Friday, August 14, 2009 at the age of 94 years. Beloved wife of the late Laurica (Leo) Dagenais (1988). Predeceased by parents Célina and Théodore Plouffe of Campbell's Bay, QC, son Ronald (2008) and daughter Denise Tremblay (2001) (Dan). Levona is survived by daughters Diane Racicot (Roger) of Ottawa, Jo-Anne Mainville (Norman), Yvon Dagenais (Elizabeth) all of Timmins and Gérald Dagenais (Sally) of Toronto. Levona also leaves behind her sisters Esther Stanly (Prescott) and Ella Dale of Campbell's Bay, QC. She was predeceased by brothers Hector and Gérard Plouffe and sisters Anita Taylor, Doreen Gibson and Romona Lafleur. Levona, better known as “Mim” also leaves to mourn 16 grandchildren, 24 great- grandchildren and 10 great great- grandchildren. Levona was a very talented seamstress, well known for her ability and originality. She was a devoted volunteer for many years. Mom believed profoundly in the power of a close knit family. The family wish to thank the staff of the Golden Manor for their care and compassion. Remembrance donations made to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation or the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday August 18, 2009 from the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME Chapel. Interment Timmins Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
