OBITUARY WALTER JOSEPH STANLEY WADE March 30, 1913- July 9, 2009 In his ninety-seventh year, Walter passed away at Victoria General Hospital on July 9, 2009. Phyllis, his beloved wife of sixty-seven years, died in 2008. Walter was born in Montreal and spent his early years helping his father run Stanley Steamer Trucks, participating in sports and Scouts. He was a Scouter in Montreal and Moncton. He was presented his Gilwell beads by Lord Baden-Powell himself in 1935, a source of lifelong pride. Walter worked for Canadian National Railways for almost fifty years in freight claims in Montreal, Moncton and Winnipeg. He retired in 1978 as Manager of Merchandise Claims for western Canada. There will be a Memorial Gathering of family and friends on Sunday, July 19 at 2 p.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd Parish Hall, 673 Silverstone Ave., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice. Published in the Montreal Gazette on 7/18/2009
