HANDLEY, Minerva (Furkey) (Boston) - Suddenly, on September 2, 2009 the world lost the most amazing woman. Minerva passed away with the love of her family surrounding her. She is the beloved wife of Don Handley (late Hector (Toby) Boston) and the daughter of Bette Furkey (late George). She was and will always be the best MA ever to Danny Boston (Janna), Doran Boston (Nadine), Dennis Boston (Tina), Debbie Bouchard (Ronnie), Donna Boston (Al), Doug Boston (Dollie). Minerva loved her step-children Rhonda Handley (Claude) and Karen Sparks as if they were her own. Her spunk for life lives on in the hearts and souls of her grandchildren Mark Boston (Jen), Jamie Boston (Jessie), D.J. Boston (Nicki), Carrie Boston (Jeff), Britney Boston, Kevin Bouchard, Amy Bouchard (Matt), Athena Bumbacco (Jay), Carley Bumbacco, Kesley McLean, Geordon McLean, Brian Boston, Alicia Boston, Shawn Boston, J.C. Boston and Amanda Sparks. She was known to her great grandchildren Lettie and Tori Bumbacco, Jacob, Ella, Avery, Bryson, Asia and Grady Boston as Grandma Murphy and Grandma Hosy among other names, which always brought a smile to her face. Minerva's life was enhanced by being the sister to Jim Furkey (Shirley) and Georgina Naccarato (John) and the sister-in-law to Audrey Donnelly (Jim), late Jean Roberts (Arnold), Noreen Dale (late Evan), Jackie Marshall (late Paul), John Boston (Claudette), late Jim Boston (Sharon), Don Boston (Mary- Jane), Randy Boston (Ivana), Ross Boston (Karen), Hollie, Hannah and her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Minerva was an excellent cook and seamstress and loved to garden and golf. She touched many lives and only brought goodness to others. She always took the high road, stood her ground, was the life of the party and found kindness in everyone. We will all miss Ma..Gram..Gramma.. Min..Minerva. Just by knowing her we are all better people. Friends may call at the ARTHUR FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE on Monday, September 7, 2009 from 6 - 9 p.m., and on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 from 12 -1 p.m. Funeral service to be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 1 p.m., in the chapel. Interment West Korah Cemetery. A celebration of Minerva's life will take place at the Tarentorus Sports Club following the burial. Donations may be made to the VON (where Minerva volunteered for many years), Elks Oncology Van or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
