OBITUARY SAMUEL GEORGE TOSHITOKI TOGURI 1921 - 2009 We are deeply saddened to announce that Sam Toguri passed away peacefully at age eighty-eight on September 11, 2009 at his residence. Dear husband of the late Keyoko (nee Oikawa) and loving father of James and Tokiko (Andre Laurin). He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Maxime, Alexa and Xara. Predeceased by brothers Eizo, Jim (Elsie) and David and sadly missed by siblings Etsuko, Makiko (Roy Shinobu), Grace (Ed MacFarlane), Allan (Emily), Miki, many nieces and nephews, and long time friends. He graduated from Sir George Williams College receiving his B.Sc. and Civil Engineering degrees and was past President of the Japanese Canadian Citizens Association. Visitation will take place Friday, September 18 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Centre Funeraire Cote-des-Neiges, 4525 chemin de la Cote-des-Neiges. Funeral service will follow in the chapel at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society will be much appreciated.
