HORTON, Rhoda (nee Simpson) - Long time member of St. James United Church & the St. James U.C.W. Past C.E.O. of the Peterborough Chamber of Commerce (1957-1982). – Peacefully, on Monday October 19, 2009 at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, ON, in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Frank Horton (2002). Loving mother of Sheridan Ann Wood (husband Robert) of Reaboro, ON and the late Ronald (2009), (surviving wife Gloria) of Lindsay, ON. Proud grandmother of Dan, Darlene Wood, Dawn Wood (Terry Wilson), Ron Sundberg (Rebecca), Chris (Kim Leach) and William (Leata Nugent). Great-Grandma of Andrew, Catherine, Gregory, Courtney, Caitlyn, James, Victoria, Hunter, Brock and Payne. Great-Great- Grandma of Carson. Predeceased by her parents James I. and Clara Simpson of Kinmount, ON. Dear sister of Gladys Swayne and the late Clarke Simpson, Ruth Pilling & Zeta Byrne. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Friends & relatives will be received at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough, on Thursday, October 22 from 7-9 pm and on Friday October 23 from 10 am until the service begins, Friday at 11 am, in the Chapel.
