FARMER, GEORGE JAMES Passed away on Oct. 19th, 2009 in his 79th year in Ottawa surrounded by loving family. Beloved husband of 58 years to Wanda (Timbers) He will be remembered by his brother John Farmer (Dorothy) of Bond Head. Predeceased by sister Jenny Britton & brother Bill Farmer (Patricia) of Thunder Bay. Dear brother-in-law of Donna James (late Bill) of Georgetown . Loving father of Rob Farmer (Sue McCall), Donna Farmer (Robert Heintzman) all of St Thomas, Julia Noakes (Stephen) of Caesarea, James Farmer (late Judy) of Stratford and Colleen Collins (Eric) of Little Britain. Dear father-in- law to Wendy (Keetley) Farmer. Dear Grandpa to Jason, David, Colleen, Tammy, Joshua, Jessica, Jake and Mitchell. Beloved Great Grandpa to Kadie, Faith, Mikalya, Dylan, Amber, Caleb, Andrew, Landon & Blythe. George was born and raised in Georgetown. A proud veteran of the Canadian Forces, RCR, 1st Battalion and the RCEME Corps. Retired after 15 years from The Trent Severn Water Way in 1991. Former resident of Peterborough, Lake St. Peter and Barry's Bay. George was a woodworker, toymaker, gardener, camper, hunter and fisherman, passing these skills on to his family & friends. George donated his body to science, no funeral service to be held. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to: St. Francis Memorial Hospital Box 129, 7 St. Francis Memorial Drive, Barry's Bay, ON, K0J 1B0. Please plant a tree in his memory.The family would like to thank the medical staff and EMS of St Francis Memorial Hospital of Barry's' Bay and the Ottawa Civic Hospital (ICU) for the excellent care of George.
