SNACK, Robert Peterkin - P.Eng. Peacefully with his family at his side, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, on Monday, October 26, 2009 in his 87th year. Beloved husband, best friend and “rock“ of Mary Elizabeth Snack (nee Miles) for 53 years. Bob was much loved and will be deeply missed by his children Roberta (Kevan) Herod and Gregory (Dawn). Dear Grandpa of Geoffrey Snack and Jennifer Walsh. Bob is survived by his sister-in-law Alice. Bob was an uncle to Paul (Lori), Lynn Ann (Alistair), Jennifer (Wayne), Victoria (Jeff) and their families. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Winnifred and his brother Victor. Bob was a longtime member of Trinity United Church and a member of the Chancel Choir for 39 years. He was a founder of the Turtles luncheon meeting group. He was a WW II Veteran having served with the R.C.A.F.. Bob graduated from the University of Toronto in 1951 as an electrical engineer and spent the next 35 years at C.G.E., most of which was were spent in Metal Industry Sales. He retired in 1986. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 7-9 pm at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, October 30, 2009 at TRINITY UNITED CHURCH, 360 Reid Street, with The Reverend Kevin Derry officiating. In keeping with Bob's wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial donations to Trinity United Church Congregational Memorial Fund or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by Bob's family.
