BROWN, ELIZABETH SHIRLEY -Suddenly, at her residence, the death of Elizabeth Shirley (Chaffey) Brown of Hibernia Cove, Deer Island, NB, wife of Freeman Brown, occurred on Monday, February 23, 2004. Born in Deer Island on May 23, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Flora (Chaffey) and Percy Conley. Besides her husband, Freeman, she is survived by one daughter, Shirley Mitchell (Samuel) of Saint John, NB; one son, Reid Brown (Julie) of Deer Island, NB; one brother, Ronald Conley (Marilyn) of Deer Island, NB; four grandchildren, Michael Mitchell (Kyna) of Montreal, Katrina Sylvester (Hans) of Washington, DC, Rebecca Stuart (Toby) of Deer Island and Shelley Brown of Deer Island; three great-grandchildren, Sydney Stuart, Sullivan Stuart and Abigail Mitchell. Elizabeth was pre-deceased by three sisters, Bernice Parker, Alma Russell and Marion Leeman and four brothers, Desmond Conley, Edward Conley, Joseph Conley and Carrol Conley. Elizabeth was a member of the Leonardville Church of Christ. She had been employed with the H. W. Welch Co. Ltd. as a labourer until her retirement. Resting at the Leonardville Church of Christ, Leonardville, Deer Island, with visiting on Tuesday from 3-6 pm only, and on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held at the church on Thursday at 2 pm with Rev. Jeff Combs officiating, followed by interment in the Calder's Head Cemetery, Fairhaven, Deer Island. Donations in Elizaberh's memory to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
