BOLTON Ian-George. Died suddenly on October 11, 1998 at his home on Saltspring Island, B.C. He was born August 12, 1932 in London, England. Ian is survived by his twin sons, Simon (Montreal) and Tim (Vancouver); their mother, Linda (England) and his brother, Tony (England) and countless other close friends and associates. Ian started his career in the jewelry business in London, initially working for Boucheron & Co. and subsequently founding with Ken Hooper the highly successful company of Hooper Bolton Ltd., of Sloane Street London. He immigrated to Canada in 1968 and held several management positions with Henry Birks & Sons before founding Porter Bolton Jewelers Ltd. in 1979 in Victoria with his long time partner, Jane Huston. Ian lived life to the fullest and will be remembered for his sincerity and caring for all those close to him. He was always willing to give freely of himself to others in their time of need and he will be sorely missed. He was a truly professional jeweler and his spirit will live on with all of us who had the opportunity to have him create a piece of jewelry for us. His creative ability was also demonstrated by his interest in the restoration of antique automobiles. He was active in the community as a member of the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, The Union Club of Victoria and Rotary. Funeral service will be held at McCall's Bros. Floral Chapel, Victoria, B.C. on Monday, October 19, 1998 at 3 p.m. Arrangements provided by McCall's of Victoria. B.C. (250) 385-4465.
