TOBIN, Eileen In loving memory of Eileen Tobin, 87 years, who passed away Wednesday morning, April 21, 2004 at the St. Joseph's Health Center. It is with great sorrow and joy that the family announces the passing of Eileen Tobin. Our sorrow lies in the loss of a cherished aunt and sister-in-law. Our joy lies in the knowledge that she is reunited with her beloved parents, Charlie and Mary, her sisters Anastasia, Kay and Gen and her brothers Francis and Eddie. Eileen is survived by her 14 nieces and nephews, 15 great nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law Sherry Tobin. Born in Cobalt, Ontario she moved to Sudbury as a young girl. As a young woman she studied nursing at St. Michael's and began her career in Detroit. She returned to Sudbury where she worked at the INCO Medical Center until her retirement as Director of Nursing at Copper Cliff Hospital. After her retirement, her nursing wisdom and innate compassion continued to touch the lives of people through her 20 years of volunteer work at the Cancer Society. Toby, as she was known to her friends and colleagues, left a legacy of deep and lasting friendships. Her greatest legacy though, lives in the hearts of her nieces and nephews and their children. Although she had no children of her own, she mothered many. Aunty Reene, as she was known to the Condratto, the Lanthier and the Tobin children, will be greatly missed. Our sorrow is deep, but none deeper than that of nieces Bev and Mary. Their love and devotion were absolute. They cared for Aunty Reene as daughters care for their mother. The nieces and nephews invite you to join with them in a celebration and thanksgiving for the life of Eileen Tobin. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral mass to be held at St. Patrick's Church, 39 Walford Rd, Sudbury, Saturday, April 24, 2004 at 1:00 am. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium, Sudbury. Donations to the Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. (Friends may call from 2-5 and 7-9 Friday and after 9:00 am Saturday). 4/22/2004- ID3813352 - Sudbury Star
