AUBIN Gilbert Rene long time resident of Girouxville, Alberta passed away on June 4, 2000 in Sacred Heart Health Centre, McLennan, Alberta at the age of 42 years. Gilbert Rene Aubin was born on August 11, 1957 at McLennan, Alberta and remained in the area until his passing. Gilbert was the proud owner of Gil's Backhoe Service in Girouxville, Alberta. He enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed doing public relations, most of all he enjoyed spending precious time with family and friends. Gilbert was always full of laughter which will be remembered by everyone who knew him. Gilbert was predeceased by his brother Richard Aubin and nephew Brady Rene Girod. Gilbert is survived by: his wife Monique Aubin and two sons Michael Aubin and Rene Aubin of Girouxville. His mother and father Raoul and Eveline Aubin of Girouxville. Brothers: Jean (Sue) Aubin, Henri (Linda) Aubin of Girouxville, Gary (Jamie) Aubin of Grande Prairie. Sisters: Paulette (Richard) Laflamme of Falher, Doreen (Don) Barnes of Edmonton, Lynn Basnett of Hines Creek plus numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for the late Gilbert Aubin were held June 8, 2000 at 2:00 pm from the Notre Dames de Lourdes Roman Catholic Church with Reverend Robert Lesmerises officiating. Organist Marcela Lorrain. Soloists Rene St. Andre and Lina Aubin. Urn Bearers - sons Michael and Rene Aubin, Cross bearer - Doreen Barnes (sister), Gift Bearers - Paulette Laflamme, Lynn Basnett, Doreen Barnes (sisters), Eulogist - Roch Bremont (friend), Readers - Gary and Jamie Aubin. Honorary Pallbearers were Marc Aubin, Roger Remillard, Aime Dumais, Daniel Turcotte, Victor Martineau and Paul Garon.
