Plumb: Eric Arthur Plumb. It is with great sadness we announce the death of Eric Arthur Plumb who passed away in his sleep in the T. R. Ross Nursing Home, December 31, 2001. He lived his entire life in Drumheller after being born here June 19, 1917. Eric leaves to mourn his sister-in-law Whipple Plumb, his nieces Trudy Plumb and Sharon (Alex) Dyball and their children Heather, David and Heidi. He was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Gertrude, his sister Eva, his brother Fred, and his wife Annie. Eric spent most of his working days as a grocer serving and meeting people and teasing "the rebels." He also spent a few years driving for Winter's Funeral Home, and occasionally drove the mail truck from Munson to Stettler. He served with the Canadian Army stationed in Britain during World War II, and subsequently helped the Drumheller Sea Cadets. Eric was an active member of St. Magloire's Church, always enjoyed a good hockey game, and loved to travel. As a result, he and Annie were involved for many years with the Seniors Recreational Group bus trips, a group of which he was a founding member. Memorial donations may be made to St. Magloire's Church (Box 593, Drumheller, AB, T0J 0Y0), or to a charity of ones choice. Following cremation in Calgary, a memorial service will be held at St. Magloire's Church on Saturday, January 12, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Florence McDonald officiating. Arrangements entrusted to COURTNEY-WINTER'S FUNERAL CHAPEL. 403-823-2666.
