Elisa Giuseppina SCARCELLA

In hospital January 7, 2001, in her 78th year. Beloved wife of Biagio Costigliola. Cherished mother of Bozica. Proud and loving grandmother of Angelina Chapin. Dear mother-in-law of Henry Chapin. Elisa and her husband came to Canada from her native Italy in 1951, settling in Toronto until 1989, when they moved to Ottawa. Elisa was active in her community in Toronto, and always believed she had a responsibility to contribute to building a good society. She worked for many years with the Royal Bank of Canada as a loans officer. Elisa was a strong and incredibly sweet person, and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She is survived in Italy by her cousins, Carina and Gaetanina Fadini; brother-and-sister-in-law, Giorgio Costigliola and Liliana Costigliola; nephew, Paolo and niece, Cristina. Predeceased by her beloved mother Luisa Scarcella; father, Franco Scarcella; and brother, Ettore. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Intensive Care Unit of the Ottawa Civic Hospital for their compassionate care. Friends may call at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road at Roosevelt, on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment Pinecrest Cemetery.
