Leeta Olga WATT

Passed away quietly at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital on Saturday, February 24, 2001 in her 93rd year, after some three years of residency at the Versa Care Lodge of Ottawa. She was educated at the Ottawa Ladies College and served in a series of administrative positions in the Ottawa area including the original Ottawa Civic Hospital and the rural school board for the counties of Carleton Prescott and Russell. Leeta was a life member of Parkdale United Church wherein she served with the UCW and helped in the organizing of fall craft bazares. Her personal interest included her family, her "Aylmer roots," the "bridge club" and the family cottage at Portland, Ontario. Dearly loved wife of Henry Loryd Penney. Loving mother of Lindsay (Janice) and Tom. Also loved by her three grandchildren Lorna, Bruce and Trevor. Predeceased by her brother Dr. Lindsay Watt. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Tuesday, February 7, 2001 from 10:30 a.m. until service time in the chapel at 12 noon.
