passed away on Sunday, May 17, at 4:33 a.m. at the CHUM, after a long and courageous battle with illness. She left without her microphone, to listen to the oscillations of the universe. Chantal gathered the sounds and voices of her surroundings, shaping, weaving, and magnifying them, before revealing them to the world through her creations. Her singular approach quietly left its mark on the heart of the artistic landscape. In addition to her many artistic achievements, Chantal leaves us the legacy of her smile and gentle voice, inviting us to listen more closely to the world around us. She is survived by her parents, Céline Gilbert and Fernand Dumas; her siblings and their spouses, François and Thi-Hong, Pierre-Luc and Diane, and Linda and Raymond; her six nieces and nephews; her lifelong accomplice, Christian Calon; and her large circle of friends and fellow artists, all of whom were so dear to her heart. The family wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks to her entire healthcare team for their dedication, compassion, and attentive care throughout Chantal's illness. A celebration of her life will be held at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex on Sunday, July 5, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
