Patricia Borlace

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Patricia Borlace on July 26th at the age of 80. She is survived by her sister, Elaine, and brother, Michael as well as close family friends Hubert, Martin and Julie Lavigne and an incredible number of lifelong personal friends. Born in England and moving to Canada at the age of 5, Pat grew up in the Montreal area, training as a secretary and then as a Chartered Accountant at McGill. Always adventuresome, Pat spent a year in Nepal as a volunteer for CECI, then later, a year in Argentina learning Spanish. She travelled extensively to places like India, Europe, and Mexico, especially enjoying her winters in Ajjic. Pat will be remembered for her warmth, generosity and her love for friends and family. She was a great cook and loved hosting social gatherings. She was also an avid gardener, bird watcher and photographer as well as a keen bridge player. She loved hiking, canoeing and camping As President of the Montreal Field Naturalists for 9 years, she brought a keen sense of organization and creativity to the club. She published a book describing the club's pictorial history for its 50th anniversary. Pat was a wonderful friend to so many and we all benefited from her enthusiasm, her love of nature and her sense of humor. She will be deeply missed and always remembered. Friends and family are invited gather at the Lasalle Funeral Complex, 1275 ave Dollard, Lasalle on August 22 from 10 am for the visitation, the celebration of life at 12, followed by refreshments.
