Gerry Gladu

passed peacefully in Beaconsfield, Quebec with family by his side on July 30th, 2026. Predeceased by his beloved wives Lyse Maillet (1989) and Priscilla David (2023), parents Joseph Gladu and Martha Camp, and siblings Joan and Ken Gladu. Survived by Priscilla's three children, Kathryn McGarvey (Jim), Dave Kredl (Karen Brochu) and Derek Kredl (Michelle Giavedoni), six grandchildren, Nikita, Natasha, Toma, Samuelle, Michael and Madison and one great-granddaughter, Willow. Gerry was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1931 but moved to Vancouver at an early age. Through his early years, Gerry worked at many jobs including working on the ships plying the West Coast. Eventually job opportunities elsewhere such as in the Canadian Air Force and C.A.E.. enticed Gerry to leave Vancouver and he ended up working in Spain, Germany and other exotic locales before eventually settling down in Montreal. Gerry married Lyse Maillet in 1970 before sadly losing her to cancer. In 1990, he married Priscilla David, a fellow Royal Montreal member. Gerry and Priscilla loved to play golf together as well as travel. During their 32- year marriage, they travelled to all corners of the world including Asia and Europe. Gerry and Priscilla eventually split their time between Montreal and their second home, Delray Beach, Florida, which they both loved. Gerry, in addition to his passion for golf, was a huge basketball fan and crossword puzzle lover. He also loved to fix things and figure out how things worked. Special thanks to the incredible staff at Sunrise in Beaconsfield for their compassion and dedication to Gerry over the past years especially in his final days. No service by request. Gerry's ashes will be laid to rest beside both of his treasured wives. Gerry Gladu, age 95, passed peacefully in Beaconsfield, Quebec with family by his side on July 30th, 2026.
