Charles Sinclair Frazier

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charles Sinclair Frazier, who died after a brief illness at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on June 20, 2026, at the age of 80. Born in Buffalo, New York, Charles spent his childhood in Montreal, where his athletic ability, outgoing personality, and infectious smile made him well known at John Grant High School in Lachine. In his graduating year, he was proudly crowned King of the Prom-a fitting tribute to someone whose warmth and charisma naturally drew people to him. Charles spent most of his adult life in Ottawa, where he pursued many entrepreneurial ventures with determination and optimism. He believed deeply in the potential of others and never allowed life's challenges, including several health setbacks, to diminish his positive outlook or generous spirit. He was the beloved son of the late Charles and Muriel Frazier. He leaves behind his loving brother, Bryant, and was predeceased by his sisters, Carol and Marilyn. Above all, Charles was a devoted father to Cynthia (Dennis) and Candace (Andres), and a proud and loving grandfather to Zacharias, Connor, Brooklyn and Sasha. He will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, treasured friends, and all whose lives were brighter because of his presence. Charles had an extraordinary curiosity about the world. A lifelong self-taught learner, he could speak thoughtfully on politics, religion, history, technology, and almost any subject imaginable. He was a gifted storyteller, the keeper of family history, and someone who made every conversation meaningful. We will miss the long talks that often left us laughing, thinking, and seeing the world a little differently. His interests were as varied as his talents. He loved photography, tropical fish, plants, computers, and music. From singing as a choir boy to joyfully singing along with his favourite artists throughout his life, his rich, unmistakable voice filled many happy moments. He was especially proud of publishing the official photo album commemorating Pope John Paul II's 1984 visit to Canada, volunteering with Reach Canada, and earning a Certificate in Conflict Resolution from St. Paul University in 2002. For our family, Christmas will never be quite the same. Charles always sat at the head of the table, offering a heartfelt grace that welcomed everyone and reminded us of what truly mattered. His enthusiasm, wisdom, kindness, and unwavering love made every gathering feel complete. Charles was a larger-than-life presence whose love and encouragement will continue to guide us. Though we will miss him deeply, we are grateful for every story, every song, every conversation, and every moment we shared.
