Donald George SMITH

Dr. Donald George Passed away peacefully July 31, 2001 at St. Michael's Hospital in his 82nd year, after a brief illness. He served his country in W.W. II in the Canadian Navy aboard the cruiser H.M.C.S. Uganda. He held a Ph.D. in English from Duke University and was professor in several American Universities and Tripoli, Libya. For ten years he was a member of the Ministry of Colleges and Universities for Province of Ontario. He was predeceased by his parents George Reginald and Beatrice Clara Smith of Ottawa. Dear brother of Constance Maitland of Barrie and Robert L. Smith of Pawcatuck, Connecticut. Uncle Don to Christopher and Victoria Maitland and George, Jennifer, Gregory, Carolyn and Brian Smith. Service to be held at the HUMPHREY Funeral Home-A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East) Friday, August 3rd at 3 o'clock. Cremation.
