Ellen SCHURR

CHARRON, Ellen. Ellen passed away peacefully on August 18, 2004 at Parkwood Court where she had been a resident for 3.5 years. She was born August 24, 1916 at Big Stick Lake, Saskatchewan. Ellen married Ralph Charron in Regina in 1941, and not long after they moved to Ottawa where they built their home. She was employed by the Federal Department of Agriculture until she retired in 1972. In 1974 she and Ralph moved to Victoria. Ellen took much pleasure in working in her garden and yard on Duchess Street, and the friendship of her neighbours. Born a daughter of immigrants, she never forgot the value of a dollar. Ellen was predeceased by her husband in 1989, her parents, two brothers, Calvin and Herbert, and one sister, Louise Roslinsky. She is survived by one brother, Ruben (Velma) Schurr and one sister, Alvina Schurr, both of Victoria, one brother-in-law, Tony (Pauline) Charron in Aylmer, Quebec, as well as extended family and friends.
