Patricia BURDEN

Died peacefully in Ottawa, September 7, 2001. Born Madeleine Patricia Burden on May 24, 1912 in Prince George, British Columbia, daughter of Frederick Parker Burden and Jane Payson. Educated at Victoria College, British Columbia, Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, and the London School of Economics in England. Married H.D. (Bus) Woods of Fredericton, N.B., May 10, 1934, who predeceased her in 1983. Survived by her brothers, Stephen (Bud) Burden of Calgary, Hanford of Ladner, B.C. and his family, and her children, Fred of Arizona, Francis of Montpelier, Vermont, Drogheda of Montreal, Hanford of Bolinas, California and Montreal, and Shelagh of Ottawa, as well as twenty loving grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. She instructed her family: "No funeral, no flowers; money to the homeless." The Montreal Gazette, September 15, 2001
