Peacefully in her sleep at 11:30 p.m. on December 25, 2001 at the Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre in Ottawa, with her son and daughter-in-law at her side, in her 59th year. She was predeceased by her mother Eunice MacCollum of Saint John, N.B., who passed away peacefully in Saint John, 30 hours earlier, and her father Clarence. Dearly beloved mother of Ted (Toni), stepmother to Ian (Kevin) and Andrew (Kim). Gramma Marjorie to Avery and Cartney. Friend and former wife of Percy Sherwood. Loving sister of Gordon (Flo), Jack (Grace), Lois (Barry), Bob (Fran), Joy (Earl), Doris (Woody), David (Sandra), Nancy (Rick) and Victor. Loving aunt of 22 nieces and nephews, and great aunt of 23 grandnieces and nephews. Close friend to many. The tapestry of Marjorie's life was rich and varied, and she faced life's challenge with strength and dignity that impressed all. She was immensely loved by her family and friends, and that love was returned in kind. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod St., on Friday December 28, 2001 from 10 a.m. until service time in the Chapel at 11 a.m. Sincere thanks to the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Elisabeth Bryere Health Centre who made her final days special. Donations to the Elisabeth Bruyere Pavilion or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. The Ottawa Citizen, Dec. 27, 2001
